Dendrobium teretifolium is amongst the first of the epiphytic orchids to bloom in Sydney. I make an effort to visit this exceptional population every year. Previously, I’ve been limited to shorter focal length lenses (<70mm) which meant that I had trouble photographing specimens high in the trees. This year I invested in the Tamron 50-300mm f/4.5-6.3 just so I could shoot epiphytic orchids (plus a few other carnivorous plant shots I’ve always had in mind). Anyway this is not a paid endorsement (although I will gladly accept payment) but I can not fault the lens especially at its price point. Here’s the pics from a fun afternoon shooting orchids that were literally previously out of reach.
