Geissorhiza radians in the wild

Geissorhiza radians, the winecup flower, is a beautiful plant endemic to the Western Cape, South Africa. The species is highly endangered and found in a handful of remnant patches of renosterveld in the plains north of Cape Town. It grows in winter-wet soils along swampy drainage lines. These niches dry out during summer when the plants enter dormancy.
